“Teddy” Alias Magic Ted
Teddy (now known as Magic Ted) holds a cherished place in my family’s history as the matriarch of our Teddy Bears. Born in the 1950s, Teddy was a beloved companion throughout my childhood, traveling with me as we lived abroad and providing comfort during my years at boarding school.
When my daughter was born, she naturally gravitated towards Teddy, and he became her loyal travel and boarding school companion as well. Over the years, Magic Ted bore the marks of our affection, showing signs of age and wear from the love he received not only from us but also from several playful dogs. As a testament to his enduring role, when it was time for him to retire, he did so with honour.
To carry on the tradition, I created a miniature needle-felt Teddy for my daughter. This Little Bear quickly became her new companion, accompanying her on her adventures. Soon, requests poured in for more Little Bears to serve as gifts for newborn babies, friends moving to different counties, and other significant celebrations.
Today, all my family members have their own Little Bears, and many of these handcrafted bears have found homes in various countries around the world. Each Little Bear serves as a heartfelt reminder to its owner of the love and importance bestowed upon them by the friends or family members who gifted them. These bears are more than just toys; they are symbols of enduring love and connection, cherished across generations and distances.
You can purchase my bears at Dippy Doodahs, Hailsham, UNO Art Gallery Seaford when exhibiting , and where I attend Fayres
